Iain Jay has near 30 years experience within Education (Head of Boarding/Deputy Head as well as teaching Humanities subjects), Social Work (Senior Social Worker with Emergency Duty Team) and Private Practice (Counselling & Hypnotherapy).  He was a specialist in child protection, youth work and mental health.  Additionally he was a Squadron Commander and Headquarters Staff Officer involved for many years with RAF Officer Training, Communications & Intelligence.

Iain Jay also produces and presents incredible, exciting and highly effective schools resources.  These span a number of Curriculum Based productions and training events for both Staff and Students (KS2+).  

 

MindSet Educational Shows aims to work with you, staff, students and other professionals to provide bespoke training and learning experiences for Primary, Secondary, Adult FE and Professional Development.  

 

The impetus is upon augmenting and enhancing the work of in-house professionals rather than merely being experts who 'drop in'.  MindSet Educational Shows is about working together to provide a springboard or additional resorces to expand upon other work.  Where possible teaching packs and materials will be available to support ongoing instruction and learning opportunities. 

 

Whether you opt for Formal Training, Immersive Theatre or one of our other formats such as Workshops or Gameshows you will be guaranteed to receive something rather special and unique with an added twist of mentalism & magic which will ensure key information is understood and remembered - the prime objective of all training and learning.  

Note: Some workshops can include participation - in a public performance if requested.

Workhouse Arts is a not for profit organisation providing training and performance opportunities for children, young people and adult community members within Circus, Sideshow, Theatre and Variety including Backstage Skills.  The aim is to encourage participation, confidence and nurturing of talent and skills as part of a strong community.  Providing facilities to teach, learn and perform for those who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to enjoy and participate.

Sideshow entertainment at its very best.  Rookman Swindler Esq and his Workhouse Inmates present a wide array of unique and unsual entertainments, artistic performances and quirky offerings.  These events need to be seen to be believed and are great fun for all ages to enjoy. 

Rookman Swindler also offers his services as a Wedding Chimney Sweep 
It is considered very lucky to have a Chimney Sweep meet the Bride & Groom on their Wedding Day.  This wonderful and fun tradition is maintained by Rookman Swindler, often accompanied by his 'Climbing Boys'.  He can be booked to surprise the Happy Couple following their Service or at the Reception where he will entertain everyone as well as pose for photographs and present gifts.  MC duties and additional entertainment packages can also be arranged.

Some shows and events are aimed towards more discerning audiences, however, many are ideally suited as fun family entertainment.  
Despite claiming to be 'allergic' to children Iain Jay is remarkably at ease with children and young people who really enjoy his Workshops and Sideshows.  At the other extreme the 'dark' events are usually too scary for young children or those of a very nervous nature but all are tailored to clients preferences.

Wearing another of his hats; Iain Jay is also a well respected Parapsychologist and is regularly involved with activities and investigations into the realms of the unknown... and beyond!  He is often in demand at Ghost Hunts and similar events to provide talks and demonstrations.
